Most people begin a job or start a business with a strong sense of mission – a purpose that they have in mind that motivates every action and puts a spring in their step.
Over time and as stresses mount, it is easy to allow the pressures of our work environment, or the leadership responsibilities we hold, to move us off of that original purpose - and to instead press us toward a survival mentality. Yet the reality is…
…no one has ever prospered with a survival mindset.
It is only as we re-focus with single-minded clarity on our personal or organizational mission that the fires of internal motivation will be rekindled to the point of promoting success-oriented activity.
With that in mind and as we now quickly approach the start of a new year, we each have the opportunity to pause and reflect; to gather ourselves up. And then to focus our heart, our mind, and our soul on the mission that was so vibrant at our personal or corporate starting point.
As we focus our lives and actions on the mission that is central to our role, stagnation will be quashed and left in the wake of our forward momentum. We will almost immediately transition from mere survival to full-on mission-centered productivity once again.
