The Key to Effective Market Leadership

Wed, 2012-11-07 07:41 -- tomjonez

I have sought to keep these emails very short because you as a leader are very busy.

Today I am making an exception.  I am sharing with you that I personally believe will be entirely worth the 17 minutes it will take you to watch this video.  It is a recording of a "TED Talk" by Simon Sinek. As is so often the case with such discussions, we soon migrated into a conversation regarding her “secret” to selecting quality people to join her growing team.

As we have discussed these past few weeks, two key responsibilities of leadership are selecting people to join our team, and routinely evaluating each team member’s performance going forward from the date of hire.

Through the years, we have coached our own staff as well as numerous clients through eight key characteristics for selection and evaluation of personnel. Our analytical assessment model was developed by our own leadership team over a twenty-year period while leading a fast-growing company that at its peak employed in excess of 400 people.

Tue, 2012-09-18 23:12 -- tomjonez

Two central aspects of leadership are selecting people to join our team and routinely evaluating each team member’s performance going forward from the date of hire.

These past several weeks, we have been discussing eight key characteristics for selection and evaluation of personnel. Thus far we have discussed five character qualities, and the first two of three technical skills:  Available, Faithful, Teachable, Enjoyable, Responsible, Administration, and Communication (click to read each previous summary).
